This work is professional and personal. It draws on a deep academic grounding in peace and conflict resolution, as well as hands-on experience in public sector consulting and street-level advocacy.

Our work is rooted in the belief that the way we design and use our streets reflects — and shapes — how we see one another.

Originally focused on disaster recovery, natural hazard mitigation, and climate resilience policy at the national level, SCP has evolved into a practice focused on creating safe, more just streets. Our work spans research, strategy, and practice in the realms of urban mobility, community engagement, and public space — all aimed at helping cities move toward more peaceful, people-centered futures.

Sonder Civic Partners is a one-woman practice led by Ashton R. Rohmer, AICP. While “Partners” remains in the name, this is currently a solo venture — one that occasionally brings in collaborators but always works with clients to center curiosity, care, and civic imagination.
